Traffic Accidents Involving Children Are Very Common in Spring

Every year, in May and June, there are many traffic accidents involving elementary school children.  In addition, there are many new students who are not yet familiar with the route they should take to walk to school.  All of us in the community should work together to keep children safe and protect them from accidents.

When driving a car, please try to drive with a positive and friendly attitude towards those around you.

At intersections without a traffic light, the rule is “pedestrians have the right of way.”  In other words, cars and bicycles must stop and let pedestrians go first.  Please keep this in mind when driving or riding a bicycle.

There are also many accidents involving people riding bicycles.  For this reason, both children and adults should be sure to wear a helmet when riding a bicycle.
