You Can Learn About a Foreign Country at an Upcoming Seminar

At the Akashi Public Library, there will be a seminar where you can learn more about a foreign country.  An Indonesian person currently living in Akashi City will teach you all sorts of interesting things about Indonesia.

Date and Time:  Sunday, February 4^th from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm.

Number of Participants:  Up to 25 people.

If you want to participate, you can either register at the information desk at the Akashi Public Library, or you can apply by phone or fax.  Applications will start from January 21^st.  Participation will be first come, first served.

If you’re applying by fax, please write the following things on your application and send it in during business hours:

• The date and name of the event you want to join: “February 4^th, Foreigners Talking About the World (外国人による世界のおはなし会)”
• The names of those who want to participate, as well as your own fax number.
• If you have a library card for Akashi Public Library, please put down the card number.

There Will be an “Indonesian Cooking Class”

There will be an Indonesian cooking class that anyone is free to join.  An Indonesian person living in Akashi will teach you how to make tasty Indonesian dishes.

Date and Time:  January 31st from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm

Place:  With Akashi (ASPIA Akashi, North Building, 8^th Floor)

Cost:  1,000 yen

This cooking class was organized by “Multicultural Center Manmaru Akashi”.  If you want to join the event, please contact “Multicultural Center Manmaru Akashi” by e-mail or telephone.  If you apply by e-mail, please be sure to write the names and telephone numbers of all the people who want to join.

Registration to join the class will open from January 4^th at 10:00 am.  Please register as soon as possible, because only the first 16 people to apply will be able to join the class.

Free Coronavirus Vaccinations Will Only Be Available Until March 31^st, 2024

To check on who is eligible to get the vaccine, where to get the vaccine, and how to make a reservation, please check the Akashi City website.

• Starting from January of 2024, please make your vaccination reservation by calling the hospital or clinic directly.  You will no longer be able to make a reservation by calling the Akashi City Coronavirus phone number.

• If you are 12 years old or older and have not yet received your 1^st and 2^nd vaccinations, you can get them on the following days:
  • 1^st:  Tuesday, January 23^rd, 2024, at 3:00 pm.
  • 2^nd:  Tuesday, February 13^th, 2024, at 3:00 pm.
  • The vaccinations will be given at the Akashi City Hospital.
  • The phone number to make a reservation is 0120-712-160.  They are available to call every day from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.

• The following is information about the Akashi City Coronavirus phone number:
  • The phone number to consult with somebody about the Coronavirus is 0120-712-160.
  • The number is available each day from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.
  • However, the phone line will NOT be open on January 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd.
  • If you’re unable to talk over the phone, then their fax number is 0120-655-695.
