Children Can Have Fun and Play at the Akashi Play Park
The Akashi Play Park is a place for kids to freely enjoy themselves doing all sorts of fun games and activities. It will be open on several days in November and December. The Play Park has a “Play Leader”, who is an adult who will supervise the children. That means your child can play at the Play Park without being accompanied by an adult. The children will be surrounded by nature and able to enjoy many different activities. They can play in the grass, search for bugs, or have fun playing on different playground equipment. Kids can do whatever they want to do!
- Dates: Saturday, November 22nd, Saturday, December 6th, Sunday, December 14th.
- Time: For all three days, the Play Park will start at 10:00 a.m. and finish at 3:00 p.m. Children are free to arrive and to leave whenever they like.
- Location: Akashi Park, East Lawn Open Space (東芝生広場, higashi shibafu hiroba).
- The Akashi Play Park is free to join.
- You don’t need to apply or make a reservation. Children are welcome to just show up on the day of the Play Park.
If the weather is very bad, then the Akashi Play Park will be cancelled. You can check the following QR code to get more information. You can also check it to see notifications about whether the Play Park will be cancelled due to rain.

Be Careful about the Norovirus
The norovirus is a virus that can make you sick. If you catch it, you may vomit, have an upset stomach, or get a fever.
- The norovirus can be transmitted when it gets on food or your hands and then touches your mouth.
- Only a small amount of the virus is enough to infect someone, so it’s a very contagious disease.
- Winter is the season when the norovirus is the most common.
- Disinfecting with alcohol doesn’t work very well against the norovirus.
[Please read the following points that can help you avoid catching the norovirus:]
- Wash your hands thoroughly, especially after returning home from outside, after going to the bathroom, and when eating food.
- Be sure to cook food thoroughly, since raw food can potentially have the norovirus. Raw shellfish is especially dangerous.
[What to do if someone in your family is sick with the norovirus:]
- After cleaning your cooking and eating utensils with dish soap, disinfect them.
- When cleaning the toilet or after somebody has vomited, be sure to wear gloves and a mask. Also be sure to clean and disinfect the area thoroughly.
