The Minimum Wage Will Be Changing

In Japan, there are “minimum wage laws” that are meant to help working people.  These laws set a minimum amount of money that workers must be paid.  In October of every year, the minimum wage numbers change.  They also change from prefecture to prefecture.

In Hyogo prefecture, starting on October 4th, the minimum wage will be set at 1,116 yen for one hour of work.

This minimum wage is the same even for people working part-time jobs or other jobs where they don’t have regular hours.  It’s also the same for people who only work a few hours in a day.

If you have any questions about this article, please contact the Hyogo Prefecture Labor Bureau, Labor Standards Department, Wages Office.  Their phone number is 078-367-9154.  Their fax number is 078-367-9165.
