The Akashi Newsletter (Koho Akashi) is a newsletter published by Akashi City. It releases on the 1st and the 15th of each month. There are many announcements in each issue of the Akashi Newsletter. We have selected five of the most important or useful announcements and translated them into English.

Come Play in the Ocean at Beaches Around Akashi
There are four spots across Akashi City where you can have a safe and fun time swimming in the sea. The period when each location is open, as well as the different facilities they offer, is listed in the chart below. Please take a look!

◎ Okura Beach also has a “Nature Observation Center”, where you have the chance to observe and learn about all different kinds of sea creatures.
You can borrow equipment and gear (such as life jackets) to keep you safe and help you observe different sorts of sea life. This equipment and gear can be borrowed for free.
The Nature Observation Center can be used on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. They are open from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
If the weather is bad, or the level of the tide is too high, the Nature Observation Center will be closed.

You Can Now Print Copies of Your “Certificate of Residence” and Other Important Documents at the Convenience Store
If you use your My Number Card, you can use the multi-function copy machine at a convenience store to print out a copy of your Certificate of Residence (住民票の写し, juuminhyou), along with some other important documents. This means that you don’t have to go all the way to the city hall or civic center.
Time when you can print these documents: From 6:30 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. (From December 29th until January 3rd is a holiday period, and you won’t be able to print the documents then).
Documents you can print: Copy of your Certificate of Residence (住民票の写し, juuminhyou), Certificate of Seal Registration (印鑑登録証明書, inkantourokushoumeisho), Income Certificate (所得証明書, shotokushoumeisho), and Taxation Certificate (課税証明書, kazeishoumeisho).
Cost: 100 yen per document (that is 200 yen cheaper than getting the document at the city hall or civic center).
