Announcements in the August 15th, 2022 Issue

1.The boats in Akashi Park can be used for a cheaper price

This is a special deal that can be enjoyed by children aged 18 or younger who live in Akashi City. For a short time, the boats in Akashi Park can be rented for a cheaper price. Although the deal is for children aged 18 or younger, adults are free to join the children in the boats. The last day to enjoy the boats for a cheaper price is October 31st.
To rent a boat at the cheaper price, a “subsidy ticket”, called 助成券 (joseiken) in Japanese, is needed. These tickets were made by Akashi City, and they are used to check that the boat is being used by one of the children covered by the special deal. Please write the child’s name and address on the subsidy ticket. Then you can buy the “boat ticket” for 620 yen. This boat ticket is needed in order to rent the boats, and one ticket will allow you to use one boat. Please show both the subsidy ticket and the boat ticket to the employee in charge of the boats. If you do not have a subsidy ticket, then it will cost 900 yen to buy a boat ticket.

You can get a subsidy ticket at the following three places:
1.The boat boarding area in Akashi Park.
2.Akashi Kodomo Hiroba on the 5th floor of Papios Akashi.
3.The Akashi City homepage, located here:
Please check this page for more information and to print the ticket.
The boats can be used from 10:00 am until 4:30 pm.
For Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, the boats can be used from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.
Boat rentals will be closed on Tuesdays. However, if the Tuesday is a public holiday, then boat rentals will be open.

Heatstroke is when the heat causes you to feel unwell. If you get heatstroke, you may get so exhausted that you can’t stand up anymore.
When you cover your face with a mask, the warmth in your face is no longer able to escape into the air. Also, the mask keeps the humidity level around your face at a regular level, so you may not notice when you are thirsty. If you don’t drink as much liquid, then it’s possible for you to become dehydrated. When you’re dehydrated, your body is low on water, and you will feel sick.
Please be careful so that you can avoid heatstroke.
In the following situations, please take off your mask to avoid heatstroke:
(Outside a building)
・If you are 2 meters away from another person, you don’t need to wear a mask.
・Even if you are less than 2 meters away from another person, if you aren’t talking to each other then you don’t need to wear a mask.
(Inside a building)
・If you are 2 meters away from another person and not talking, you don’t need to wear a mask.

When you are wearing a mask, please be careful and follow the following steps:
・Drink lots of water. Throughout the day, drink small amounts of water regularly.
・Avoid intense exercise or activity when you’re somewhere hot.
・Don’t stay somewhere hot for a long time. Move to someplace cool as soon as possible.
