From Now On, You Can Choose Whether to Wear a Mask or Not

Up until now, the Japanese government has decided when and where you should wear a mask.  But from March 13^th, you will be able to decide on your own whether you want to wear a mask.  Please note that there are still people getting very ill and even dying from the Coronavirus.

In most situations, you are free to either wear a mask or not.  However, there are a few exceptions.  In these following cases, please be sure to wear a mask:

• When at a hospital or at a place with many elderly people.
• When riding a crowded train or bus.
• At a place of business or an event where you are told to wear a mask.

 Notifications about the Coronavirus Vaccine

The last day that you can get vaccinated at the Akashi Citizens’ Plaza or the Akashi Public Health Center is on March 26^th.  Once we know what will be happening from April onward, we will make a new announcement.

1, The Omicron vaccine

 （１）The following people are eligible to receive the Omicron vaccine:
・Anyone who is 12 years old or older, received the 1^st and 2^nd vaccinations, and had their last vaccination over 3 months ago can receive the Omicron vaccination.

（２）Where to get vaccinated
・You can receive the vaccination at 110 hospitals and clinics all over Akashi.  You can also receive it at the Akashi Citizens’ Plaza or the Akashi Public Health Center.

（３） How to make a reservation
・Please call 0120-227-710 to make a vaccination reservation.  You can also make a reservation on their website.

２，Vaccinations for Infants and Children

• Please call a hospital or clinic that gives Coronavirus vaccinations and make a reservation.
• In order to be vaccinated, children need permission from their parent or guardian.  In addition, a parent or guardian must be present when they receive the vaccination.

３，Ticket to Receive Your Vaccination
・Please use the ticket that you have now.
・If you have no ticket, please call 0120-712-160 and apply to receive one.

４，Akashi Coronavirus Vaccine Telephone Number
The number to call to reserve a Coronavirus vaccination in Akashi is 0120-227-710.
To apply for a vaccination ticket, please call 0120-712-160.  If you can’t talk over the phone, then you can send a fax instead.  Their fax number is 0120-655-695.

Akashi City is Looking for Springtime Photographs

The Akashi Newsletter wants people to send in photographs of springtime in Akashi.  These photos must be taken within Akashi City.  The best photos will be put up on the Akashi Newsletter website.

Please send in your photographs by April 28^th to the Akashi Newsletter Division, “Pictures That Give the Feeling of Spring” Unit.  You can send them using any one of the following methods:

• Bring them directly to the Akashi Newsletter Division, “Pictures That Give the Feeling of Spring” Unit, located in City Hall.
• Mail them to “〒673-8686 City Hall, ‘Pictures that Give the Feeling of Spring’ Unit.”
• E-mail them to akashiphoto@city.akashi.lg.jp

When you send in your photographs, please write down 1The name of the person who took the photo, 2 your address, 3 your age, 4 your phone number, 5 the day when the photo was taken, 6 an explanation of the photo, 7 your thoughts or feelings on the photo, and include it with the submission.

If you are mailing in the photographs or bringing them in directly, please print them in the L size (this is standard photo size, 89 x 127 mm)

If you are e-mailing in the photographs, please send them in jpeg format and 3mb or smaller in size.
