The Akashi Newsletter (Koho Akashi) is a newsletter published by Akashi City. It releases on the 1st and the 15th of each month. There are many announcements in each issue of the Akashi Newsletter. We have selected the most important or useful announcements and translated them into English.

Announcements in the September 15th, 2022 Issue
1.“Akashi City Support Ticket” is delivered to all Akashi citizens.
Akashi City delivers “Akashi City Support Ticket” to all citizens who live in the city.
“Akashi City Support Ticket” is a money coupon.
Many are being suffered from the Coronavirus and consumer prices are inching up.
So, Akashi City provides this money coupon as a measure to assists citizens’ everyday life.
By using this “Akashi City Support Ticket”, you can help shops, restaurants, and other businesses in the city.
(1) Delivery period: The tickets are sent out in sequence from Wednesday, September 21 to Monday, October 31.
(2) Eligible citizens: All citizens living in Akashi City.
(3) Face value: \3000 per person (Consists of six \500 tickets)
(4) Shops and restaurants accepting the tickets: Many shops and restaurants and taxes operated in the city accept the tickets. The list of the shops’ names is attached to the ticket you receive.
(5) Valid period: The ticket is effective from Saturday, October 1 to Saturday, December 31.
“Akashi City Support Ticket” is delivered to you in Yu-pack domestic delivery service. The tickets for all of your family members are enclosed in one package.
When you receive your package, you need to put your signature or affix your seal.
If you find a “Delivery Notice” in your mailbox, please get in touch with a post office.
When a post service personnel came to the house to deliver a package while you were absent, they put a “Delivery Notice” in the mailbox.

2.Crime Prevention Information: Watch out for bicycle theft.
Unlocked bicycles are easy to be stolen.
The number of people who are in trouble because of bicycle theft is increasing.
Out of the stolen bicycles, unlocked ones account for 60 percent of those that were stolen.
If you lock your bicycle, its chance to be stolen gets low.
You should always lock the bicycle when you leave it.

Crime prevention measures: What you should do to prevent you from bicycle theft.
▶You should lock the bicycle when you leave it even for a short period.
▶Mount a lock on the bicycle that cannot be unlocked easily by a person other then you.
▶Register your bicycle for anti-theft purposes, and you can prove your ownership of the bicycle.
You can make this registration at the shop you purchased your bicycle.
▶Lock the bicycle wherever whenever you park it, even at your home or a bike parking lot.

3.Notifications about the Coronavirus vaccine.
Vaccine for 12 years of age or older
• 4th Coronavirus vaccine.
Anybody who meets the criteria for numbers 1, 2, 3, or 4 below may get their 4th vaccination:
1.For anyone 60 years of age or older who received their 3rd vaccination 5 or more months ago.
2.Anyone from 18 to 59 years of age who has an existing illness or a condition that would make their Coronavirus symptoms worse if they were infected.
3.Anyone from 18 to 59 years of age who works in a hospital.
4.Anyone from 18 to 59 years of age who works in a place that provides care for the elderly.
• 3rd Coronavirus vaccine.
・ Anyone 12 years of age or older who received the 2nd vaccination 5 or more months ago can receive their 3rd vaccination.
*You need to confirm when and where you can receive vaccination when you make an appointment.
Vaccine for anyone between 5 and 11 years of age
You need to make an appointment for vaccination at a hospital or clinic that provides you with Coronavirus vaccination.

Two vaccine shots are given. The second shot will be given at least three weeks after the first shot.
To receive a vaccine shot, approval of a guardian is necessary.
To receive a vaccine shot, attendance of a guardian is necessary.
