Let’s make Japanese Christmas Wreaths!

For the Japanese New Year, Japanese people decorate their houses with something called a “shimekazari”.  This is a special kind of decoration made from a rope covered in festive objects.  Maybe you’ve seen one on the door of someone’s house?  These decorations come from the Shinto religion, and people use them to call the gods to their home.

There are also some kinds of shimekazari which are made in the shape of a wreath.  Let’s make a wreath to celebrate both Christmas and the New Year!
