“Let’s Make a Bountiful Ocean” Festival in 2022

In Akashi Park, there will be many different events for the “Let’s Make Oceans All Around the Country Bountiful” exhibition.

•   You can see many different live stage events
•   You can buy things locally made in Hyogo (including food and drinks)

③  You can look at various displays and exhibits and learn about making a bountiful ocean.

The festival is on November 12th and 13th.  The event will be held even if it rains, but if the weather is extremely bad then the event will be cancelled.

The “Let’s Make Oceans All Around the Country Bountiful” festival is an event that calls on people to protect the oceans and rivers all around them.  It’s a famous event that is held in a different place each year.

Here are the live stage events (This is a tentative schedule and may not be the same as the events on the day.  There are also other events that are not listed.  You can see any of these without making a reservation).

Notification About Family Skiing Classes

There will be family skiing classes at the Hachi Highlands Ski Resort.

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, the instructors will be happy to teach you!

• The skiing classes will be held by the Akashi Skiing Association and the Konohana Travel Agency.
• There will be two different classes held on two separate weekends

The 1st will be on Saturday, January 21st and 22nd, 2023

And the 2nd will be on Saturday, February 4th and 5th, 2023

• We will be going to the Hachi Highlands Ski Resort by bus.

You can get on the bus either at the Akashi City Hall or the Akashi Bank bus stop.  We will be staying at a hotel.  The hotel’s name is the “Plateau Konohana.”

•   Elementary school students living in Akashi, along with adult members of their families, are welcome to participate.  Both the 1st and the 2nd class can hold up to 45 people.

• The cost of the event is 17,000 yen for adults and 14,000 yen for children.  This does not include the cost for using the ski lifts or renting skis.  (You can use the lift to ride to the top of the mountain)
  
• Please write the following things on a postcard and mail in to apply:

o   The name, address, postal code, and phone number of the participating adult(s).

o   The names of everyone who will be participating.

o   The name, school name, and grade of the participating child.

o    Whether you want to join the January or February class.

• Please send the postcard to the following address so that it arrives by December 2nd:

• If too many people apply for the class, then the participating families will be decided by a lottery.

Notifications About the Coronavirus Vaccine

The vaccine for the Omicron variant of Coronavirus is now available.

Babies can now get vaccinated as well.

1.Vaccine for Omicron

1)  The following people are eligible to receive the Omicron vaccine.

• Anyone who is 12 years old or older, received the 1st and 2nd vaccinations, and had their last vaccination over 3 months ago.

In order for children aged 12 to 15 years old to be vaccinated, they need permission from their parent or guardian.  In addition, a parent or guardian must be present when they receive the vaccination.)

 2)  Ticket to receive vaccination

•    For anyone who has a ticket to get their 3rd or 4th vaccination, please use that ticket.

• For those who have already received their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th vaccination and no longer have a ticket, Akashi City will send you another ticket.  It may take a little while, but please wait for your ticket to arrive.

•   If you have lost your ticket, or you have just moved to Akashi, then please call 0120-712-160 and apply for a ticket.

3) How to make a reservation

・To make a reservation over the phone, please call 0120-227-710.  Phone reservations are open every day from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm.

If you’re unable to talk over the phone, then please send a fax instead.  The fax number is 0120-655-695.

2. For Those Who Haven’t Gotten Their 1st or 2nd Vaccinations

• Before you get the vaccination for the Omicron variant, please get your 1st and 2nd vaccinations first.

• You can get these vaccines at the Akashi Public Health Center on November 20th, November 27th, and December 3rd.

•     Please call 0120-712-160 to make a reservation.

3. Vaccinations for Babies

•     Babies between 6 months and 4 years old are eligible to receive the vaccine.

•  You must call 0120-712-160 and apply for a vaccination ticket first.
  
•  Please call a hospital or clinic that gives Coronavirus vaccinations and make a reservation.
  
•  Permission from a parent or guardian is required for this vaccination.  In addition, a parent or guardian must be present when the baby receives the vaccination.
