The Akashi Newsletter (Koho Akashi) is a newsletter published by Akashi City. It releases on the 1st and the 15th of each month. There are many announcements in each issue of the Akashi Newsletter. We have selected five of the most important or useful announcements and translated them into English.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Announcements in the February 15th Issue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Akashi is Selling Digital Gift Certificates<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

These gift certificates are called \u201cAkashi Tako Pay 50.\u201d\u00a0 They are digital gift certificates that can be used with the PayPay smartphone app.
\u3000\u3000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Price: One set costs 1,000 yen.\u00a0 This set of gift certificates is worth 1,500 yen, so it can be used to make 1,500 yen\u2019s worth of purchases.\u00a0 One person can buy up to 25 sets of gift certificates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000\u3000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligible People: Anyone who is living in Akashi and is 16 years old or older is eligible to purchase these gift certificates.\u00a0 Please note that you must be 16 years old or older at the time when you apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000\u3000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications: Applications will be open from Monday, March 2nd<\/sup> at 10:00 a.m. until Tuesday, March 31st<\/sup>.\u00a0 If too many people apply to purchase the gift certificates, then a lottery will be held to decide who can purchase them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000\u3000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results of the lottery will be known starting from Wednesday, April 1st<\/sup> at 3:00 p.m.\u00a0 Please note that when you pay for the Akashi Tako Pay gift certificates, it must all be done in a single purchase.\u00a0 In other words, you have to pay for all of the tickets that you want at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Period When Certificates Can Be Purchased: From Wednesday, April 1st<\/sup> until Thursday, April 30th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Young Children Can Now Be Looked After at Daycares Under the New \u201cAny Child Can Go to Daycare\u201d System<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

By making use of the \u201cAny Child Can Go to Daycare\u201d system (\u3053\u3069\u3082\u8ab0\u3067\u3082\u901a\u5712\u5236\u5ea6, kodomo daredemo tsuuen seido<\/em>), your child can be taken care of at a daycare or certified childcare center for a set amount of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be a set number of hours that your child can be taken care of at the daycare each month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You must apply to have your child accepted, as well as consult with the daycare that you want to use.\u00a0 You must make a reservation for the time that your child will be staying at the daycare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000\u3000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligible Children: Any child living in Akashi who is from 6 months to 2 years old and is not currently going to any daycare or certified childcare center (\u8a8d\u5b9a\u3053\u3069\u3082\u5712, nintei<\/em>–kodomo-en<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u3000\u3000<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cost: 300 yen per hour.\u00a0 However, there may be other costs besides the 300 yen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applying: You can apply starting from February 15th<\/sup>.  After applying, please consult with the daycare that you wish to use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
