class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Be Especially Careful About Children Getting Heatstroke<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In summer, not only is the temperature of the air very hot, but the ground is extremely hot as well.&nbsp; Because children are closer to the ground, it is even easier for them to get heatstroke.&nbsp; To prevent children coming down with heatstroke, adults should keep the following points in mind:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>[Tell children to be sure and drink water]<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Often, children will be so absorbed in playing that they will forget to drink water regularly.&nbsp; Be sure to talk to your children at regular intervals and tell them to drink water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>[Make sure children eat meals that help build strong and healthy bodies for summer]<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s especially good for children to eat summer vegetables or soups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Summer vegetables that contain lots of moisture to keep kids hydrated and their body temperature lower&nbsp; \u2192 &nbsp;Cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplants, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Vegetables that have lots of vitamins to help replenish those lost by kids who have been sweating a lot&nbsp; \u2192&nbsp; Edamame, green peppers, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>[Check on children to make sure that they are doing all right]<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, even when children aren\u2019t feeling well, they may not be able to express that to you very well.&nbsp; So you may not realize unless you check yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adults should check on children regularly to make sure that (for example) their faces aren\u2019t red, they aren\u2019t sweating excessively, etc.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Even inside of a stroller, it can get very hot, so please be careful and keep an eye out on the child sitting inside.<\/li><li>The inside of a stopped car can get dangerously hot.&nbsp; Please be careful never to leave any children sitting alone in a stopped car.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions about this article, please contact the Health class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Beware of Food Poisoning<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>August is an especially dangerous month for food poisoning!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to prevent it, please look at the following three pieces of advice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.\u00a0 Be sure to thoroughly wash your hands, food, and any cooking or kitchen utensils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Before cooking or eating food, carefully wash your hands with soap and water.<\/li><li>Be sure to thoroughly wash vegetables before you eat them.<\/li><li>For any cooking utensils you will use to make food, be sure to wash them with dishwasher detergent and disinfect them.<\/li><li>If you use a knife or cutting board for raw meat or fish, be sure not to use them with any other food.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\u00a0 Be careful about preserving food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>After you buy food, be sure to put it in the refrigerator or freezer as quickly as possible.<\/li><li>For refrigerated food, put it in the refrigerator.&nbsp; For frozen food, put it in the freezer.<\/li><li>The refrigerator should be kept at 10 degrees Celsius or colder.&nbsp; The freezer should be kept at -15 degrees Celsius or colder.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0 Be sure to cook food thoroughly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The bacteria that cause food poisoning are killed by heat.<\/li><li>Cook meat or fish so that the center of it reaches a temperature of 75 degrees Celsius or higher for at least 1 minute.<\/li><li>When cooking food in the microwave, make sure that everything has been thoroughly heated
