The Akashi Newsletter (Koho Akashi) is a newsletter published by Akashi City. It releases on the 1st and the 15th of each month. There are many announcements in each issue of the Akashi Newsletter. We have selected five of the most important or useful announcements and translated them into English.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Announcements in the October 15th Issue<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Akashi Will Be Sending Out \u201cAkashi City Support Tickets\u201d to Everyone Who Lives in the City<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAkashi City Support Tickets\u201d are tickets that can be used like money.  Akashi will be sending them out to everyone who lives in the city, and they will arrive by October 31st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The support tickets will be sent via Yu-Pack.  \u201cYu-Pack\u201d is the Japanese Postal Service\u2019s way of delivering small packages.  There will be enough in the envelope for the entire family.  Akashi will be sending out the support tickets automatically to everyone, so you don\u2019t need to apply or do anything to get Akashi to send them to you.  However, when you accept the package, you will have to give a stamp with your hanko or write your signature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you aren\u2019t home when they try to deliver the support tickets, then they will leave a \u201cUnable to Deliver Package\u201d (\u4e0d\u5728\u9023\u7d61\u7968) notice in your mailbox.  This notice will explain how you can ask them to re-deliver the package to you.  Please contact them via telephone or internet and set up a date and time for them to deliver to you again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Akashi Museum of Culture Will Have a \u201cMuseum Tour\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A \u201cmuseum of culture\u201d is a museum with different displays and exhibits of local culture from the area and the country.  In November, the Akashi Museum of Culture will have a \u201cmuseum tour\u201d where you can see areas of the museum that are normally off-limits to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Date and Times:  November 5th.  There will be two tours on this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first tour will be from 10:00 am until 10:40 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second tour will be from 2:00 pm until 2:40 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Number of Participants:  Each tour will have a limit of 20 participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cost:\u00a0 Free<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to participate, please apply using the QR code. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If too many people want to join, then the participants will be decided by a lottery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There Will be a \u201cFamily Marathon\u201d Event<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A \u201cfamily marathon\u201d is a marathon where parents and children can enjoy running together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The marathon will be held on November 3rd from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm.  The location will be at the Akashi Seaside Park.  There will be 2 kilometer, 3 kilometer, and 6 kilometer running courses.  The event will still be held even if it rains a little.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since this is a marathon, don\u2019t worry about trying to run quickly!  Just pick a running course and try your best to make it to the end.  Everyone who reaches the end will be able to join a special lottery.  In this lottery, you have the chance to win all sorts of fun prizes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyone can join, from children to adults.  However, any child who is a 3rd year elementary school student or younger must participate along with a parent or guardian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The place to register for the marathon will be in front of the Akashi Seaside Park pool.  Registrations will be open on the day of the marathon from 8:00 am until 8:50 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You Can Now Get the New Coronavirus Vaccine<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Starting from September 20th, 2023, you can get the new Coronavirus vaccine.  This is a vaccine created for the \u201cOmicron XBB1.5\u201d Covid variant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(1)    Who Can Receive the New Vaccine<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the following three things all apply to you, then you are eligible to receive the new vaccine:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2460  You are 12 years old or older.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2461  You have already received at least two Coronavirus vaccinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2462  It has been three months or more since you received your last Coronavirus vaccination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(2)  The Vaccination Ticket to Receive the New Vaccine<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For anyone who has received a Coronavirus vaccination from May 8th to September 19th of this year, Akashi City will send out a new vaccination ticket (a ticket with \u63a5\u7a2e\u5238, \u201cvaccination ticket\u201d written on it).  The new ticket will be orange in color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For anyone else, you can use the light purple vaccination ticket that Akashi City sent you from April to July of this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(3) How to Make a Reservation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From September 11th<\/sup>, you can make a reservation for the new Coronavirus vaccine.  By checking the following site, you can see the methods to make a reservation, as well as the hospitals and clinics where you can get the vaccine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
