The Akashi Newsletter (Koho Akashi) is a newsletter published by Akashi City. It releases on the 1st and the 15th of each month. There are many announcements in each issue of the Akashi Newsletter. We have selected five of the most important or useful announcements and translated them into English.

There Will Be a Class to Help Children Stay Safe in and Around the Water
Akashi City will be holding a “water safety” class. Children and their parents can join this class and learn how to stay safe when swimming or around the water. They will be able to get actual experience as well, by using the pool at the fire station. Children from the 4th year to the 6th year of elementary school will be able to join the class. Up to 20 children will be able to participate. Children must be sure to be accompanied by an adult family member.
Date and Time: Sunday, July 7th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
(The class will be cancelled if it rains)

The deadline for the application is July 3rd.
Applications will be closed after 20 children have joined the class, so try to apply as early as possible.

Notification About Temporary Closing of Akashi Public Libraries
This month, the public libraries in Akashi City will be closing temporarily so that they can assess the condition of the books in their collections. Therefore, the “borrowing rules” will be changed for several days during this month. These “borrowing rules” tell you how many books you can borrow and for how long.
