The Akashi Newsletter (Koho Akashi) is a newsletter published by Akashi City. It releases on the 1st and the 15th of each month. There are many announcements in each issue of the Akashi Newsletter. We have selected five of the most important or useful announcements and translated them into English.

Announcements in the April 1st Issue
From April 1st, There Will Be an “Akashi Youth Spot” For Young People to Use
“Akashi Youth Spot” is a place for elementary, junior high school, and high school-aged children. There will be various facilities, such as a music room, study room, and “free space.” These facilities can all be used free of charge.
How to use the Akashi Youth Spot:
1 First, follow the procedures to become a member of the Akashi Youth Spot.
2 There is no need to make a reservation to use the study room or “free space.” However, a reservation is required to use the music room.
Hours of Operation:
Weekdays: From 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays: From 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Info About Financial Assistance to Help Pay for Vaccinations and Antibody Tests for Shingles, Pneumococcus, and Rubella
Akashi City will be providing financial support for people who want to receive vaccinations for Shingles, Pneumococcus, and Rubella. It will also provide financial support for people who want to receive an antibody test for Rubella. However, some conditions apply, so please read the following carefully.
(1) Vaccinations for Shingles
The following people can receive financial support payments:
1 If you are 65, 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, or 100 years old. You also qualify if you are over 100 years old.
2 People with disabilities who are aged from 60 to 64 also qualify for the support payment.
3 For those aged from 50 to 60, if you received a vaccination anytime from April 1st, 2025 to August 31st, 2026, then you also qualify for the support payment.

(2) Vaccinations for Pneumococcus
If you have never received a vaccination for Pneumococcus, then you qualify for a financial support payment so long as one of the following applies to you:
1 You are exactly 65 years old.
2 People with disabilities who are aged from 60 to 64 also qualify for the support payment.

(3) Vaccinations and Antibody Tests for Rubella
If you have never received any financial assistance, then you qualify for a financial support payment so long as one of the following applies to you:
1 You are a woman who wants to have a child, or a member of the family living with a woman who wants to have a child.
2 You are a member of the family living with a pregnant woman.
